Cambrils Cataluna

map of CataloniaCataluna is made up of four provinces - Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona and Lleida (Lerida), each with a capital city of the same name. Barcelona is the place people want to visit and the capital is now very much an international city. The area enjoys a varied landscape from the high sierras of the Pyrenees, to the Mediterranean coast and the central lowlands. There are two Cataluna coastlines - the Costa Brava with its cliffs and deep coves (Costa is Catalan for coast and Brava means Rugged) - and the Costa Dorada (Gold Coast) with long, wide and gentle beaches. There are three airports - Barcelona, Girona and Tarragona. There are two international rail stations at Estacion de Sants and Estacion de Francia, both in Barcelona.

Cambrils is a seafaring village located 10 miles west of Tarragona in the province of Tarragona. It is a beach resort on the Costa Dorada's diverse coastline.

CambrilsCambrils is a town still very Spanish in character with narrow, cobbled streets, ancient buildings and typical tapas bars. The resort retains all the charm of a small fishing village and has some world-class seafood restaurants. Life here revolves around the harbour where the most prominent feature is an old defence tower. The town has an area of detached houses sheltering below the castle, an old fortress of the Baron of Vilafortuny, which today is a holiday centre. There are 6 miles of beaches and it is possible to walk the few miles along the pathway to Salou without losing sight of the sea.
