Welcome to our page of accommodation in Caernarfon!
Caernarfon, with its magnificent castle and town walls,
is the county town of Gwynedd. Caernarfon
Castle is possibly the most striking medieval monument in
Wales, with its scale, commanding presence and its setting where
the tidal mouth of the River Seiont meets the Menai Strait. It
was designed to echo the walls of Constantinople, the imperial
power of Rome and the dream castle of Welsh myth and legend.
Outside the rectangle of town walls is the Victoria Dock, home
to a Maritime Museum and a short walk leads to the Segontium
Roman Fort and Museum.The Welsh
Highland Railway now runs from Caernarfon to Rhyd Ddu, at
the foot of Snowdon. Market days are Mondays and Saturdays. |
