Bury is a town on the northern side
of Greater Manchester, between Rochdale and Bolton situated just
west of the M66. Bury holds 3 markets per week, on Wednesdays,
Fridays and Saturdays. Its popularity has also been recently
enhanced by the Metrolink tram/train service which terminates
at Bury, and the reopening of the East Lancashire Light Railway
which runs daily from Bury (Bolton Street) to Rawtenstall. The
town is famous also for paper-making and the Bury Black Pudding.
About 5 miles away on Holcombe Hill overlooking the borough,
stands a monument to Sir Robert Peel, founder of the Metropolitan
Police Force - the Peel Tower. Also see Bury
