Self catering accommodation in Brough. Brough is a
small town located on the A66 to the east of the county of Cumbria.
It is in two parts, the southern part is Church Brough (once
called Upper Brough) and lies on a former Roman road. The northern
area, Market Brough (formerly Lower Brough), is sited on a medieval
road. Church Brough's houses stand around a market square decorated
with a maypole (formerly a cross stood in the square), while
Market Brough has a wide and long main street. A market cross
on top of a clock tower and the late-Georgian Golden Fleece Inn
stand in the centre of the town. Also see Brough
& Brough attractions.
