	Bourne is an ancient market town in southern Lincolnshire, reputably the birthplace of Hereward the Wake. To the east of Bourne are the flat and fertile fens and westward the wooded uplands. Apart from the A1, which passes through Lincolnshire on its way north, there are very few dual carriageways to be found in the county.
