Entertainment Blyth - Entertainment and attractions - The north pier has 9 eyecatching windmills - the Blyth Wind Farm - which generate electricity to the National Grid. An unusual feature of the town is the "High Light" lighthouse, built in 1788 on the river frontage but now marooned in the back lane of a residential street since land was reclaimed for a new harbour in the 1880's.
