was mentioned in the Doomsday Book and was originally an agricultural
community before producing wool and then cotton cloth. Blackburn
is home to Lancashire's only Anglican cathedral and boasts a
multi-cultural community which bristles with activity. Blackburn
is well known as the home of Premiership football team Blackburn
Rovers - one of the founder members of the football league in
1888.Blackburn boasts one of the largest indoor markets in the
country, with more than 300 stalls under one roof. |
