Pais Valencia is the region
hugging the Mediterranean along the eastern coast of Spain. It
is a lush and fertile area with orange, lemon and peach groves,
and even rice fields irrigated by systems devised by the Moors.
Here you will find deserted beaches, pretty hilltop villages
and the historic towns and cities of Valencia, Alicante and Cartagena.
The region is divided into 3 provinces - Alicante, Castellon
and Valencia. It is bounded to the north by Cataluna and Aragon,
to the west by Castilla-La Mancha, to the south by Murcia and
to the east by the Mediterranean Sea. Every year holiday-makers
are drawn to the beaches of the Costa Blanca, the Costa del Azahar
and the Costa Calida.
Benidorm is located about 30 miles
northeast of Alicante.

Benidorm is backed by mountains on one side and
the glorious blue Mediterranean on the other, and the climate
is perfect all year round. Many citizens of the UK, Germany and
Scandinavia live here during the winter months. Benidorm is famous
for its huge sandy beaches which run from one end of the town
to the other. These beautiful beaches are among the finest in
Europe; the Playa de Poniente and the Playa de Levante, in total
about 3 miles long, are two wonderful sandy bays separated by
a rocky promontory. Benidorm boasts more accommodation than any
other resort on the Mediterranean. Old Benidorm lives on in the
narrow streets near the castle, with numerous English-owned pubs
and bars. |
