 Benalmadena Costa lies next to Torremolinos and is
8 miles north of Fuengirola, on Andalucia's Costa del Sol. The
resort lies 10 miles south west of Malaga airport.
Benalmadena Costa is a bustling coastal
resort extending 5 miles along the coast which climbs steeply
up into mountains behind. The cable car from the coast up to
the top of the mountain is a worthwhile trip. The shore is lined
with beautiful sandy beaches, tiny coves and there is a fully
equipped marina for over 1,000 vessels. The marina is surrounded
by apartments and a wide range of attractions including a sports
complex, bilingual library and world famous theme park hotels.
The local countryside around Benalmadena offers excellent hill-walking,
mountain biking and horse riding, while above the town on the
side of the mountain is Benalmadena Pueblo, an attractive old
Spanish village with typical whitewashed houses on cobbled streets.
