Bed and breakfast in Ayr |
|
Welcome to our page of bed and breakfast in Ayr!
Ayr is the largest town on the Firth of Clyde coast and
was an important seaport and trading centre for many centuries.
Ayr became a popular resort for the wealthy Victorians in the
19th century, with a new town of wide streets and boulevards
behind the old town. Here the "Auld Brig" with its
cobbles and sturdy breakwaters spans the River Ayr, a survivor
of the 13th century medieval town. Todays visitors are attracted
to the prestigious racecourse, the long sandy beach and esplanade,
the wide gridiron Victorian streets and the crowded lanes of
old Ayr. Ayr is Scotland's premier racecourse, hosting both Flat
and National Hunt fixtures. Normally holding at least 25 days
racing every year Ayr is host to the Scottish Grand National. If you are
in the right town but cannot find the accommodation you want
