Aire-sur-l'Adour is a small
town and commune in the Landes département, in the Aquitaine
région of France. It lies on the river Adour. The next
larger places are Mont-de-Marsan to the north and Pau to the
south. The Aire-sur-L'Adour cathedral is worth a visit and the
western facade combines many styles. Aquitaine forms a
region in south-western France along the Atlantic Ocean. The
Pyrenees mountain range forms the border between Aquitaine &
Spain. Major cities in Aquitaine include Bordeaux, Pau, Bayonne,
Mont-de-Marsan, Biarritz, and Perigueux. Most towns & villages
in France have their own market, and the Aquitaine area is no
exception with most towns selling local produce, fresh fruit
and vegetables. Aquitaine offers something for everyone, with
medieval towns, dramatic beaches & countless vineyards of
award winning grapes. Bordeaux is best known for its wine, producing
around 44 million cases per year. There is bullfighting at Mont
de Marson. |
